About KaziCollect
Turning Uganda’s waste
into something better
We started KaziCollect because waste in Uganda had no system — just chaos. We’re building the digital infrastructure to change that, connecting every part of the waste chain into one clean, working marketplace.
Our story
We saw the problem
from the inside
In Kampala and across Uganda’s growing cities, waste collection has always been informal — unreliable for households, unpredictable for collectors, and frustrating for recycling plants trying to source clean materials.
KaziCollect was founded to fix that gap. We built a digital marketplace where waste generators can schedule pickups in minutes, collectors can manage jobs professionally, and recycling plants can access consistent material streams.
The name says it all — kazi means work in Swahili. We believe waste management is dignified, skilled work. And we’re building the platform that treats it that way.
What we stand for
Our values

Clean communities aren't a luxury. Every pickup we facilitate is a direct investment in the health and dignity of Ugandan neighbourhoods.

Collectors are skilled professionals. We give them the tools, visibility, and payments infrastructure to run a real business — not just pick up scraps.

Waste has value. We design every feature to push materials back into use — not into landfills. A circular economy isn't a slogan, it's our business model.
Our journey
How we got here
KaziCollect is founded
First collectors onboarded
Pilot launch in two Kampala parishes — 12 verified collectors complete over 80 pickups in the first month
Recycling plant partnerships
KaziCollect formalises its first partnerships with plastic and paper recycling plants, creating a full-loop waste-to-recycling pathway.
Growing across Uganda
The platform is open to generators, collectors, and recycling plants nationally. The mission: every Ugandan community, served.
